We hiked up in late March, and everything was extremely slippery, but still worth it. There is no official way in, and you must skirt around the cave walls to get to the interior and close to the plaque, which was placed in the 1930s, dedicated to a professor from Indiana University who took some of the blind fish to study. Beyond the plaque, the cave extends about 30 feet to the end. That is the only entrance to the cave itself that a person could reach without specialized equipment. The other two openings need special equipment to get to.
